My Dear People
In a recent Business Meeting, we voted to make our facilities available to Primera which is the Hispanic Church in Batesville. Over the years we have supported this work monthly. Now we are going to have two churches meeting at FBC on Sunday morning and Wednesday night. They will worship in the Chapel on Sunday morning as it is not presently being used at this time. They will meet on Wednesday nights in the Outback Center. Not only are we a going and a giving church, but a generous church in the use of our facilities.
It has been a busy summer with VBS, Youth Camp, and one of the two Childrenâs Camps is already in the books. We have a few staff anniversaries in June and July that I bring to your attention.
Bro. John Howell 9 years
Bro. Jeremy Richey 8 years
Jennifer Howell 4 years
Kathy Morgan 3 years
The longevity of your staff speaks volumes as to the type of people you are to serve. You love your staff well, and it results in joyful service on the part of the staff.
Blessings,
Bro. Tommy

IN CHRISTIAN LOVE
Dear Church Family,
Seeing God move in the hearts and lives of people--and blind eyes opened to the truth!--is such a joyful part of ministry. Sure, ministry includes many types of experiences, ranging from very sad to very frustrating to very joyful. That's just the nature of living and serving in a sinful, dying world. But, the joyful moments that come along bring such encouragement!
One area that we see God placing His hand on right now is in the ministry of Celebrate Recovery. This is the church's Monday night ministry designed to assist those who are struggling with a besetting sin or sin stronghold. Yes, one of the areas of struggle includes alcohol and drug addiction, but that's just one way a person can get enslaved by sin--and there are many others!
Interestingly, we first saw the Lord begin to awaken a hunger in the children who attend CR, and who are taught upstairs by Jennifer, Dorothy Claire, and Brianna. Jennifer would tell me, "John, this child is getting it!!" And soon we would see the glow on that child of an encounter with the Lord Jesus Christ and passage, through faith in Him, into salvation. Many times, we have seen the child then carry the truth back to the parents or guardians, and the gospel then impacts the adults.
While discussing the gospel with Jennifer, one little girl made a statement recently that both inspires and haunts me. Here is what she said: "Miss Jennifer, why don't grown-ups talk to us about important things like this more often?" Ouch! Out of the mouth of babes!!
Please pray that God will continue to reach children and adults with the gospel through this ministry--and that the moving of God will spread into other ministries of the church!
In Christian love,
John
Hello Church Family,
M4 Camp is here! I ask my church family to pray for our group of 41 as we travel and experience camp June 27-29. The theme verse for the camp is Colossians 3:14 which says, âAbove all, put on love, which is the perfect bond of unity.â Through the supernatural indwelling power of Jesus Christ, we can do this! After this camp, we will have a group of 45 going to Ikthoos July 7-10.
Here are ways in which I covet your prayers:
*Pray for safety in our travels as we take two vans and two vehicles. *Pray for good health and good order for the children and the chaperones in our Christian camp experiences. *Pray for our chaperones and leaders to walk with the Lord and display a servantâs attitude. *Pray that our children will learn the joys and the spiritual disciplines of a daily quiet time and that they will grow in the knowledge and wisdom of our Savior. *Pray that any child who has not been born again would place his or her faith in the finished work of the Lord Jesus Christ.
As I told you last month, this opportunity gives us the time to build relationships with children. Statistics show that children who attend Sunday School every other week only get about 15 hours of relational bonds with leaders in the church per year. Children who attend church camp get 8-12 hours each day of those relational bonds!
The young girl, Vera, who was baptized this past Sunday asked me why adults do not talk more about being saved and the eternal things of God. Ouch......Thank you for your prayers and for the opportunity to serve in the childrenâs ministry. Itâs exciting to see God working in hearts and lives. (Below are some pictures from last year's M4 camp.)
In Christ,
Miss Jennifer
